Raw Voices - Sound Lab Series

Hosted by Union de Citoyens Actifs

Some stories don’t belong in essays.
Some thoughts don’t come out polished.
They shake, stumble, burst out, or wait quietly until someone’s ready to hear them.

That’s why we’re launching Raw Voices, a monthly workshop dedicated to spoken word, poetry, and sound experimentation, a space for young voices to explore their truth out loud, without pressure or judgment.

Starting from July 2025, the workshop takes place every last Saturday of the month, from 19:00 to 21:00.

What Happens in the Workshop?

We begin slowly. The group gathers in a circle. There's a short check-in, not just your name, but how you're showing up that day. Then we move into short, guided writing prompts that help you find your voice. These can be a word, a sentence, or a memory. There are no right answers.

After writing, you’re invited to speak what you've written. You can read it, perform it, or simply let it sit. Some people bring notebooks full of poems. Others arrive empty-handed and start from zero. Everyone is welcome.

There is no need to perform if you don’t want to. Some participants come to listen, some come to share. What matters is showing up with honesty.

Throughout the session, we play with:

  • Voice rhythm and delivery

  • Silence as part of storytelling

  • Group feedback (supportive and optional)

  • Freestyle sound-making and emotion-led writing

Who Is It For?

Raw Voices is open to anyone aged 15 to 30 who wants to explore self-expression through words and sound. You don’t need to be a poet or performer. You don’t need perfect English. See you!
